In summer Longer hours of daylight and hot, dry, or humid weather can affect our skin differently than the colder and darker days of winter.

 

Increase in temperatures during the summer months, combined with humidity and heat, can increase the activity of the sebaceous glands. This makes oily skin appear oilier and dry skin appear rough and patchy.

 

Keep Your Skin Hydrated

Eat healthy and light

Avoid outside food

Treat your eyes well

Wear Sunscreen

Exfoliate your body

Avoid Heavy Makeup

Drink more water

Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine

 

Maintaining good hygiene is very important during summer. A cool bath in the night before you go to bed can help remove all the dirt, grime and sweat your body has accumulated during the day and prevent rashes

Roadside food can be contaminated and may lead to foodborne illnesses. Also in the summer heat if food is not stored properly it may get spoilt and lead to a stomach infection.

 

At least 8 glasses of water are needed. If possible, carry a water bottle with you and remember to drink at least once every 30 min. because Water is the most important ingredient in healthy skin tissue

 

In addition to your regular moisturizer, try using a nourishing oil or light night cream before hitting the hay. Since you won’t want to slather on a heavy moisturizer during the daytime, taking this extra step can allow you to replenish moisture overnight.

 

Eat light, small, frequent meals. Heavy meals with large amounts of carbohydrates and fats give rise to a lot of heat in the body. Focus on fresh fruits and vegetables that have high water content – such as oranges, watermelon, tomatoes, etc.

 

Use good antioxidant serum during the summer. Not only does an antioxidant serum hydrate your skin, but it can also protect your skin from environmental damage.

 

Most of our focus is on taking care of our face because it is what everyone sees first. But do not forget that your feet carry you around all day and they need care too. Apply oil to your feet while sleeping.

 

Restrict outdoor activities to the cooler parts of the day – early mornings before 11. am or late evenings after 6.00 pm.
